Rockdale High School accepts applications on a rolling basis.
Rockdale High School (RHS) is dedicated to educating high school aged students grades 9-12 who are recovering from substance abuse/misuse in a recovery-focused academic environment. Students receive a structured and predictable environment with low student-staff ratio, education provided by content-area certified teachers, and recovery specific supports including clinical/case management services, individual counseling, group counseling, and integration of community self-help resources. We work collaboratively with schools, DCF, DYS, probation, courts, police departments, therapists, doctors and other collateral agencies to support each student.

RRHS Referral Process
Rockdale High School Recovery Program has a rolling admissions process and accepts student referrals throughout the school year.
Referral Process:
Step One: Confirm the student is eligible to attend.
To attend Rockdale High School Recovery Program, students must have a diagnosis of a substance use disorder and have completed the primary phase of treatment or be presently enrolled in treatment or counseling and committed to a program of recovery as a condition of admission. Additionally, the student must be willing to participate in an interview with RHS staff.
Step Two: Confirm you are eligible to submit a referral.
A student may be referred by a parent, or with parent permission from therapists, doctors, mental health professionals, counselors, or school personnel and students over 18 may self refer.
Step Three: You complete the RRHS Application Form
Step Four: Email the completed application form to the Program Director.

Acceptance Criteria
- Student has current treatment/recovery involvement
- Student has completed the application and interview process
- Student has a commitment to recovery
If accepted, students and parents/guardians will sign an accountability contract, encompassing a commitment to sobriety as a condition of admission. In addition, students will agree to voluntarily submit to regular drug screenings to support individual student recovery plans. A recovery plan is created for and tailored to each student regarding their education, sobriety, and post secondary plans.
Upon completion of the acceptance process, the student’s home district will receive notification of enrollment.
